Who is Vinicio Paz?

Thousands of times I have asked myself why I love nature photography, birds  and conservation so much? My heart responds because I grew up in Ecuador and I learned how to observe wildlife and value the importance of the countryside alongside my family. In 2005, a dream became reality. My father, Angel Paz, founded a very special family business for the observation and protection of birds. Today, it is currently one of the most visited places in Ecuador. This venture marked an important milestone in my life. For the first time, I felt hope that I would be able to study, to have a profession, and to find new opportunities.

More About Vinicio Paz

My career path started in the place where I learned to walk for the very first time, where my parents taught me the importance of working hard, and where I observed my very first bird, in the forests of Refugio Paz de las Aves.  Since graduating from the Equinoctial Technological University in Quito with a degree in Tourism and Environmental Preservation in 2014, I have dedicated myself to the conservation of the forest and to photograph each and every bird of Ecuador and several other countries such as: Costa Rica, USA, Germany, France, and Portugal.

Together with my family, I helped turn Refugio Paz de las Aves into one of the most important reserves in Ecuador for bird watching and photography. We have participated in several conferences to share our innovation, motivation and entrepreneurship with other business owners in countries like Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, and Asia.

In 2022, I created the Paz de las Aves Foundation with the aim of protecting almost 49 hectares of land and starting a reforestation program called “Retornando La Vida.” We will reforest 20 hectares of pasture in the coming years. Those of you who travel or get art from me will be part of this project.
